Tri-City COVID19 Resources
TCYG is committed to bringing back our programs in a manner that complies with all local and state guidelines.
COVID-19 is here to stay, but we have learned methods and gained tools to decrease its impact on our health and well-being.
Please keep checking this page as we will update it with the latest information from state and local health departments.
This page was last updated 3/16/2023.
Vaccination Requirement
As of March 16, 2023, TCYG no longer requires its participants to be vaccinated.
The CDPH states, “vaccinations prevent illness by working with the body's natural defenses to help safely develop immunity to disease. Not only do vaccinations provide individual-level protection, but high vaccination coverage reduces the burden of disease in schools and communities and may help protect individuals who are not vaccinated or those who may not develop a strong immune response from vaccination.”
The TCYG Board is in alignment with the CDPH and strongly recommends that all eligible individuals get vaccinated against COVID-19 and remain up-to-date to protect oneself and reduce transmission of the virus. Vaccine access information is available on the Safe Schools Hub and Vaccinate All 58 – Let’s Get to Immunity.
TCYG GUIDELINES
There is always a potential to be exposed to someone with COVID-19 and we encourage strongly everyone to follow the actions below.
Stay up to date with COVID-19 and flu vaccines
If you are feeling unwell, stay home. If you have reason to believe you may have contracted COVID-19, test to confirm. If the test is positive, follow the recommended actions in the section below.
TESTING POSITIVE FOR COVID-19 - RECOMMENDED ACTIONS TO BE TAKEN
For persons who test positive for COVID-19, regardless of vaccination status, previous infection, or lack of symptoms, the recommended actions are as follows:
Stay home for at least 5 days after start of symptoms (Day 0) or after date of first positive test (Day 0) if no symptoms.
Isolation can end after Day 5 if:
Symptoms are not present, or are mild and improving; AND
You are fever-free for 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducing medication).
If fever is present, isolation should be continued until 24 hours after fever resolves.
If symptoms, other than fever, are not improving, continue to isolate until symptoms are improving or until after Day 10.
If the confirmed case has severe symptoms, or is at high risk of serious disease or has questions concerning care, they should contact their healthcare provider for available treatments.
Per CDPH masking guidance, infected persons should wear a well-fitting mask around others for a total of 10 days, especially in indoor settings.*
After you have ended isolation, if your symptoms recur or worsen, get tested again and if positive, restart isolation at Day 0.
